SimplShot is a macOS screenshot utility. It can:

• Capture app windows or selected screen areas
• Resize windows before capture
• Save screenshots to a folder you choose
• Open captures in an editor for annotation

2. Data We Collect

SimplShot does not collect personal data for analytics, advertising, or tracking. By default, SimplShot:

• Does not create user accounts
• Does not upload screenshots to our servers
• Does not transmit your screenshot contents to us

3. Permissions on macOS

SimplShot may request these system permissions:

• Screen Recording — Required to capture screenshots of windows and screen areas.
• Accessibility — Required for features that resize or focus windows automatically.
• Files & Folders Access — Used only to save screenshots to your selected location and to open files or folders you request.

You can revoke permissions at any time in macOS System Settings.

4. How Your Data Is Used

All screenshot processing and annotation is performed locally on your Mac. Your files remain on your device unless you choose to move or share them.

5. Data Storage

SimplShot stores app preferences locally, for example:

• Selected save folder
• Preferred formats and presets
• Editor preferences

These settings are stored in macOS user defaults on your device.

6. Third-Party Services

SimplShot does not use third-party ad trackers. If this changes in future versions, this policy will be updated.

7. Children's Privacy

SimplShot is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Security

Because SimplShot is local-first, your screenshots remain under your control on your device. You are responsible for securing your Mac and files.
